Antique Victorian 18ct Gold & Coral Button Stick Pin.

A beautiful piece of antique jewellery with an unusually large coral button at
the top..

Made late Victorian into the early Edwardian period.

Diving for coral has taken place in the Mediterranean Sea ever since Roman
times, and in the 15th century Torre del Greco which is now part of the Naples
commune became known for its coral diving and harvesting of red coral.
Coral is traditionally believed to bring you luck and good fortune.

Coral measures 12mm in diameter.
Tie pin measures 63.4mm x 10.4mm.

The pin weighs 2.5g.

Unmarked, tests 18ct gold.

Good untreated coral like this is getting harder and harder to find.


CONDITION: Overall very good, with some very light wear commensurate with age.

This is a antique item making it excellent value for your money when compared
to a new equivalent.
The settings are in good condition and can be worn every day (with respect!).
